Weaving -Beautiful botanicals. We completed our Art unit with a practical outdoor activity. The children worked in groups of three to produce these looms and fill them with natural materials. |

16.06.25 Wow! The children's Roman shields are finally finished after a couple weeks of planning, designing, drawing and painting. As a class, we took our shields outside to make our own testudo (tortoise) formations, that would protect us from attackers and shooting arrows. Well done Green Class, they look great! |
12.06.25 Recently, Green Class has been working on designing and painting their Roman shields. The children have been thinking about the symbolism and symmetry used on actual shields. They look fantastic so far! |

12.03.25 - Science Week Mrs. Jennings showed us a fabulous 'fizzing ballon' science experiment ! Mrs. Jennings made a ballon inflate without blowing air into it! She told us about a chemical reaction between two ingredients which caused the balloon to inflate! This was brilliant fun to watch the balloon just 'pop' into life! |

10.03.25 - Science Week
As a part of Science Week 2025, Green Class has been exploring the theme of Change and Adaptation. We have completed a research activity looking at how a specific animal has adapted to their surroundings in order to survive. For example, we found out that a Fennec Fox has unusually large ears to help it regulate it's body temperature within it's extremely warm desert environment. |

Yesterday was Safer Internet Day, in Green Class the children enjoyed learning about being a scam detective. We learned about phishing and put our skills to the test by dividing messages into two categories 'safe communications' and 'phishing scams'. The children were accurate and noticed that the scams contained strange website names and terrible spelling errors! We also made some very sensible (and complicated) passwords with a roll the dice game. |

January 2025
31.01.25 On Friday 31st January, Green Class went on a trip to the Museum of Somerset in Taunton. The children were well behaved and represented our school well in public. In the morning, we had a workshop about the Iron Age with Lydia and the children already knew lots of facts from our lessons in school. In the afternoon, we split into groups to explore the rest of the museum. The children had lots of fun and many said that they'd like to go back one day with family. |

Year 3 enjoyed having a visitor from Coram life to teach them about acceptance. They particularly enjoyed getting active, when jumping and dancing around. They have learnt lots about managing their own feelings and this learning can be transferrable to everyday life. The children enjoyed seeing Harold the giraffe again and they each wrote a little note about something they enjoyed from the session. |
